Dr. Teresa Drotar is the National Wild Horse and Burro Program Lead for the USDA Forest Service. She has taught at the college level, developed international courses on ecology and animal interactions, and served in regulatory medicine across several states. Prior to joining the Forest Service in 2020, Dr. Drotar worked as a clinical veterinarian for USDA and developed training programs for federal and state regulatory personnel, with a strong focus on equine issues. Throughout her federal career she continued to practice equine medicine part-time.
