Dr. Edward Squires is adjunct Professor in the Department of Veterinary Science and past Director of the UK Ag Equine program at the University of Kentucky . Prior to moving to Lexington, Ky., Squires was a professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University for 33 years. He was the editor of the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science for 18 years. He spent 8 years in the Department of Veterinary Science at the University of Kentucky
He has published over 339 articles in refereed Journals and 20 chapters in text books and one of the Editors for the very popular text, Equine Reproduction second edition by McKinnon, Squires, Varner and Valla.He is co-author of a book titled Equine Embryo Transfer by PM McCue and El Squires ( 2015) He currently divides his time between Ft Collins Colorado and Anthem Arizona. He serves as a consultant and advisor to several equine companies.
Squires has received numerous awards including being inducted into the Equine Research Hall of Fame , Distinquished Alumni Award College of Agriculture West Virginia University , George Stubb Award , American Association of Equine Practitioners, Honorary member of the College of Theriogenology , honorary vice president American Quarter Horse Association, past president of the Equine Nutrition Society and International Symposium on Equine Reproduction and most recently Honorary Chair of the XIII International Symposium on Equine Reproduction and the Pioneer Award for the International embro Technology Society. He is also the current executive director of the International Equine Society for Equine Reproduction
