Heather Roe, DVM, MS, DACVS-LA is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Large Animal Surgery at the University of Florida. She earned both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science in Veterinary Science from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Roe completed an in-hospital internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, where she gained experience and proficiency in surgery and performance horse medicine, particularly within Thoroughbred racehorse practice. She subsequently returned to UF to complete a residency in large animal surgery at the UF Large Animal Hospital.Dr. Roe’s clinical and research interests focus on equine surgery and lameness, with a special emphasis on performance horses. Her expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of upper airway disorders, orthopedic conditions, and soft tissue surgery.
