Dr. Karen Wolfsdorf attended veterinary school at the University of Florida. Completing a field service internship at North Carolina State University, followed by a residency in Theriogenology at the University of Florida becoming board certified in Theriogenology in 1995. Dr. Wolfsdorf spent time working in Australia with Dr. Reg and David Pascoe at Oakey Veterinary Hospital before joining Hagyard Equine Medical Institute as a field veterinarian, reproductive specialist, and shareholder. Her special areas of interest are diagnosing and treating the problem mare and pregnancy maintenance. She has authored or co-authored many publications and book chapters as well as lectured at local, national and international meetings. Dr. Wolfsdorf is very involved in numerous organizations and their boards benefiting the horse and equine reproduction.
Dr. Wolfsdorf and her husband are involved as owners and breeders in the Thoroughbred industry as well as participating in the show horse world.
