Dr. Wendy Pearson is an Associate Professor of Equine Physiology at the University of Guelph. Her research program explores the role of inflammation in equine health and disease, emphasizing nutritional and nutraceutical interactions with gastrointestinal health, exercise adaptation, and obesity- and age-related arthritis. She has secured over $3M in external research funding, published 50+ peer-reviewed papers, and has supervised more than 50 PhD and MSc graduates. Her multidisciplinary program integrates in vitro models of inflammation with in vivo experimental and clinical trials, supported by funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Mitacs, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness (OMAFA), and many private sector business across North America and Europe.
